BINOMIAL DISTRIBUTION is found in 1911 in An Introduction to the Theory of Statistics by G. U. Yule: "The binomial distribution,..only becomes approximately normal when n is large, and this limitation must be remembered in applying the table..to cases in which the distribution is strictly binomial" (Oxford English Dictonary 2 ed.).
