Short legs, brown bushy tail with black tip, brown skin with orange marks on back, belly buffy to orange, brown nose, white dot between nose and eye, small ear with white margin, strong teeth.

Behaviour
Alpine marmots live in territorial family groups. A family includes a pair of dominant breeding adults, their litters of the two former years. Social relations are very strong among the members of the group.
