We analyze dates of breeding more then 400 females of Marmota bobac (from 1989 to 1977) in captivity in this paper. They habitat in two nurseries in Moscow and Leningrad regions, but were captured in Rostov region in the same time. Animals lived in cages pears (female and male). The period of apearence of youngers was very long - 55 days (from the 8-th of March to 1-st of May). Most females (70%) gave birth in the period from 31-st of March to 15 of April. There is no any connection dates of breading with climatic conditions and any other external conditions too.

We suggest, that dates of breading depends from internal biorhythms. They are cinchronized in natural population as result of selection which provide optimal development and surviving of youngers in concrete vegetation conditions. Selection in captivity may be directed at dates optimal for technology.
